Tree removal in Edmond, OK
Edmond puts street trees on the homeowner: if it grows in the right-of-way in front of your house, its care and removal are usually your job.
Who owns the street tree
- Property owners maintain trees in the right-of-way; Edmond Urban Forestry may help with hazardous ones case by case (Edmond Tree Maintenance).
- That right-of-way commonly reaches 10 to 12 feet back from the curb, though widths vary (same source).
Removal permit (Code 8.16.100)
- Edmond's tree removal permit does not apply to platted lots, parcels under 5 acres, or trees within 20 feet of a structure (Edmond 8.16.100).
Paid bulk pickup
- Call (405) 359-4541 to schedule; limbs must be cut to 4 feet or less and no more than 14 inches across, set 4 feet from mailboxes, poles and fences (Edmond Bulk Collection).
- Edmond charges $10 per cubic yard for the first 2 cubic yards and $5 for each one after that, up to 12 pickups a year (same source).
Published price
- One OKC company publishes $450 to $2,800 for a typical Edmond removal (Eden Tree Co. OKC cost guide (updated Sep 7, 2026)).
Tip: Edmond's 14-inch limit is generous, so cutting trunk rounds to 4 feet can save a hauling charge.
