Tree removal in Midwest City, OK
Midwest City takes bigger limbs than most metro cities, and it runs a free compost facility, so homeowners have real options before paying for haul-off.
Quarterly bulk pickup
- Limbs go in piles at the curb (not in the street), with no branch longer than 8 feet or thicker than 20 inches; set out by 7 a.m. Monday of your week but not before 5 p.m. the Friday before (Midwest City Quarterly Bulk Waste).
- Up to 4 cubic yards is included, about two pickup loads; more is $20 per cubic yard. Keep piles 5 feet from mailboxes, meters and other obstacles and out from under trees and power lines (same source).
Compost facility and special pickup
- Residents can drop limbs and brush free at the Midwest City Compost Facility, 7420 NE 36th St., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a current utility bill and driver's license (Midwest City Storm Damage).
- A special pickup costs $75 for 4 cubic yards plus $20 per extra yard; call Public Works at 405-739-1066 (same source).
- After storms, debris that utility crews move to the curb becomes the homeowner's to dispose of (same source).
Midwest City homes and trees
- About 60% of Midwest City homes were built before 1980 and about 75% are single-family detached (U.S. Census ACS 2020-2024 for Midwest City, via Census Reporter), so many lots have mature trees over roofs and service drops.
- What to do: if you can cut and pile your own limbs to the 8-foot rule, ask companies for a price without haul-off; it is often cheaper.
Tip: Ask for a no-haul price if you can cut limbs to 8 feet and use the free compost facility.
